What’s Your Mother’s Name?
2024
Rajasthan, India
This mural tells the story of a Rajasthani woman who gives life to a village, her water feeding a forest that bridges reality and dream. Stretching across the building, her flowing hair merges with the sky, as if she is both a celestial force and part of the land itself. Water flows from her body, nourishing the world below. In the doorway, a figure emerging from a pot pays tribute to the village’s pottery community. A lush forest grows dense with life and mystery, where a forest spirit watches over the land, accompanied by a loyal protector dog. Throughout the scene, village life intertwines with nature, blurring the lines between the tangible and the mythical. The piece reflects resilience and spirit, honoring the deep connection between people, nature, and the unseen forces that sustain them.

Painting this was made possible with the generous support of Farm Studio. This large-scale project required plenty of adaptability. We created handmade scaffolding crafted from bamboo sticks, rope, and an old wooden door - making the process an unforgettable experience.
